TEMECULA ---- There was some competition at the laid-back Temecula Valley International Jazz Festival on Saturday afternoon. Three bands gave their all on stage as they vied for the Chuck Niles Jazz Award, which is handed out each year to the artist who best embodies the Niles genre of music: big band, swing, be-bop, Latin and vocalists.
